Tips To Help You Prepare For A Job Fair
Prepare
Bring your resume, make sure it's up-to-date and accurate. And bring more copies than you think you'll need!
Research
Research every company at the event that you would be interested in working for. Go in knowing about their company and ready to interview!
Make a list of Questions
Employers are there to ask job seekers questions, but you'll stand out if you have relevant questions of your own! You'll come across as informed and invested in your job search.
Leave a memorable impression
To let the employer know you're interested, ask about the next steps before leaving. Thank the individuals you speak with for their time, and always ask for a business card! This will help you remember names when you follow up.
Follow Up
Make time to follow-up with your new contacts! Each follow up should be unique and reflect the conversations you had, whether it was a general discussion, or about a specific job. If you had an interview, thank them for their time, express interest, and ask for the next steps!
