I have an opportunity to apply for a promotion; can you help me be well prepared?

Congratulations on taking the risk!    It is our experience that loyal employees are not always the best job seekers as they havent had the need to apply for a position in some time.  Their resume and interview skills are often rusty.  This is where a career coach will work with you to make sure that your chances of being short-listed for that promotion are the best possible.

I have dropped off several resumes to employers and have heard nothing back; what am I doing wrong?

Start with your resume! Although we cannot always be sure of why employers havent contacted us, the best we can do is make sure that your resume is not one of the contributing factors.

Resume overload! Busy employers sometimes find it very time consuming to read through resumes trying to hunt down the skills that they are interested in. Make sure you resume is written so that it highlights your skills specifically for the position you are interested in.  Make it as easy as possible for the employer to find you in the pile.

A cover letter written specifically towards that employer and the job is always an effective tool.  Generic cover letters are not effective at all.

Learn to network.beat the competition!  This is an even better way to get to know employers and find jobs before they are advertised!
